On Oct. 3, 1992, Barack and I were married in Chicago – and every day since, I’ve grown prouder and more in love with him.

You know, it’s the silliness in me. It has always been there. I love to make people laugh. It comes from my family. My family is funny.

Today Jazz music is performed and listened to by people of all ethnicity, backgrounds, ages and creeds.

Fear is a useless emotion. Don’t ever make decisions based on fear. Make decisions based on hope and possibility.

I’ve also learned that a real mouth-smile always has an eye-smile to go with it. So watch out, I say, when someone smiles at you but his eyes stay the same. It’s sure to be a phony.
