If a few companies were less greedy, the people at the bottom woud have a lot more.

I do an hour’s yoga and go running every day. Then I see a picture of myself and I still look like a skinny, potbellied idiot – and I thought I had turned into this superhunk!

I can’t believe we’ve got away with becoming this huge band. And we still haven’t done anything I think is that good yet.

You know, it’s possible for two humans to be in a relationship without there needing to be some public reason for that relationship.

I’ve never been cool and I don’t really care about being cool. It’s just an awful lot of time and hair gel wasted.

The goal is to try and make the perfect song. Which of course will never happen.

I don’t really see the point in washing your hair. If you don’t care if your hair’s clean or not then why would you wash it?

This is just to get the kids ready to play. It’s not about the score of the games. We want the boys to learn what they can from this. It helps the coaches see where we’re at and what we need to be working on.

We’re all comedy fans in my family. My parents mainly wouldn’t let me watch stuff that was either annoying to them, or just garbage. My dad wouldn’t let us watch ‘The Flintstones’ if he was home, because he said it was a rip-off of ‘The Honeymooners’. But he would let us stay up really late in the summer and watch old ‘Honeymooners’.

Cocaine is God’s way of saying that you’re making too much money.

Someone stole my shoelaces once from my shoes. I still wear them and never put laces in them – they’re like my trademark shoes now!

I think for women especially, you need to have a plan. I need to have some other ways to generate income, so I don’t have to stretch my face or lift the top of my head with surgery or something.

[on turning down a role in ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’] I didn’t really fancy sitting in a hotel room in Los Angeles for nine weeks for two minutes on screen, to be honest. I don’t really want to be an actor. I want to write and direct. I’ve been offered about ten British films. Obviously all shit. I was offered one with Johnny Depp, but again, it was a small character part, and I thought, ‘What’s the point?’ No one’s ever watched someone in seven films for one minute and said, ‘Yeah, give him his own film’…it doesn’t happen.”

At this point, we aren’t just flirting with disaster; we’re rounding third base and asking if disaster has any condoms.

[on Darren Aronofsky] I guess the first impression was that I’d been a big admirer of his work, and then I met someone who you’d never have put with that work. There was something very refreshing about that. I thought I was going to meet someone who was very intense and weird.

There’s not a lot of towns that I can go to and take family – too many incongruous knocks on doors – “Hello, honey. Have you missed me?”

Lowest rated Oscars in HISTORY. Problem is, we don’t have Stars anymore – except your President (just kidding, of course)!

I have standards I don’t plan on lowering for anybody, including myself.
