My passion is doing movies, and as long as I keep doing that, I’ll be happy. I want to do movies, fun roles and dramatic ones. I love all of it.

My younger sister and I had the same modeling agency.

I’ve had many nicknames over the years: V, Nessa, Nessy Poo, Nessy Bear and Van. Only my parents call me Van, though, and I hate it. I get embarrassed.

Do not just look at your boyfriend as just a boyfriend. Look at him as a friend, too.

I would say that one of your greatest accomplishments, Amy Poehler, is that you have so successfully used your art and comedy as a source of positivity in the world, by creating Smart Girls [an online community for girls, encouraging them to be their authentic selves], by making [Leslie in] Parks and Rec not only a positive feminist character but creating a good-hearted worldview within that program.

I think if you ask any of us here, we all dreamed of ending up on Saturday Night Live. I remember thinking, ‘I’ll just keep doing this as long as I can get away with it.’

To me, there’s two types of songs, good and bad. And I just like to stick with the good ones.

You have to learn that if you start making sure you feel good, everything will be okay.

I could live without my phone. And one thing I’d love to do is experience having the freedom that kids had back in the ’80s.

I could be walking down the street one minute and get a handshake and then get spat on the next. I’m never sure whether to wear gloves or a helmet.

The only thing that I’m scared of is not livin’ up to the expectations of Dr. Dre and Eminem.

I like work. If it’s not hard enough, I try to make it harder. I like the process of being daunted by it, tackling it, and knowing I can do it.

Getting divorced just because you don’t love a man is almost as silly as getting married just because you do.

When you are writing a script, you can’t help but stop and daydream about which actors are going to play the parts, and I kind of imagined Natalie Portman. Not just because she is beautiful, because obviously she is, but she is a wonderful actress who hasn’t had a chance in a long time to show the world how talented she is.

I managed to pick out some pretty special people.

I’m a big fan of ‘The Office’, both the British and the American versions.

As Dan was doing school at the time I was just sitting by myself for ages and at the time I wanted to be taken really serious as an actor so I used to just sit around just drinking coffee all day and trying to look really intense.

I don’t drink, I don’t take drugs, I don’t smoke.
