God is a loving god.

At this very moment, you may be saying to yourself that you have any number of admirable qualities. You are a loyal friend, a caring person, someone who is smart, dependable, fun to be around. That’s wonderful, and I’m happy for you, but let me ask you this: are you being any of those things to yourself?

If you harbor hatred, anger, and bitterness (towards her), then you are absolutely locked into a bond through those negative emotions.

You must learn that you do not have to be angry just because you have the right to be.

All begins with you surrounding yourself with the right people—the good and authentic people—and “unsurrounding” yourself with the wrong people. And we both know there are plenty of wrong people in this world.

A man can’t ‘just be friends’ with another woman. Period.

They’re different kinds of challenges depending upon what phase of life I’m in.

Spring is the time of plans and projects.

I always live in some kind of anticipation of something good happening.

A clever person solves a problem. A wise person avoids it.

Whatever it is, people who have more spare time than people ever had before get the sense of whirlwind pressure,and repeat the common criticism that ‘we are going too fast.’ Yet the people live longer than ever before, live with less effort, live on a higher plane. Is it possible that this common saying about our rapid pace is just another thoughtless mob suggestion?

Anytime I want to feel closer to the ocean, I just lay by your side and listen to the waves ebb and swell in every breath you give and take, and feel each one crash inside of me. I knew from the first time I saw you that whoever said empty shells carried the ocean’s songs had never met you before.

Good friends, good books and a sleepy conscience: this is the ideal life. (The conviction of the rich that the poor are happier is no more foolish than the conviction of the poor that the rich are.)

Everything that irritates us about others can lead us to an understanding of ourselves.

If we had more justice there would be less need of charity.

Golf is a good walk spoiled.

I define nothing. Not beauty, not patriotism. I take each thing as it is, without prior rules about what it should be.

Public opinion is held in reverence. It settles everything. Some think it is the voice of God.

What we think, or what we know, or what we believe is, in the end, of little consequence. The only consequence is what we do.
