Israel ranks her priorities in the following way: security, land, and water.

The U.S. and Britain are incapable of controlling all of Iraq.

It is natural that we should always expect an Israeli attack, even when it does not threaten.

Israel does not care about the international public opinion.

It is even more so when it comes to Iraq, which is a large Arab country with scientific, material, and human resources and is able to accomplish, at the least, what Lebanon accomplished, and more.

It should be known that Israel is based on treachery.

Democracy don’t rule the world, you better get that in your head; this world is ruled by violence, but I guess that’s better left unsaid.

But you really have to think through the talk about nonviolence. Sure, everybody’s in favor of nonviolence rather than violence, but under what conditions and when? Is it an absolute principle?

The House Armed Services Committee a couple of years ago described the role of Congress as that of a sometimes querulous but essentially kindly uncle who complains while furiously puffing on his pipe but who finally, as everyone expects, gives in and hands over the allowance.

Public officials are all right if they stay in their proper sphere and perform their proper functions but when they get greedy for wider scope and more power and money they lose their value and become parasites.

Iraq is a small but very proud nation.

An ideal form of government is democracy tempered with assassination.

Everybody has a right to be stupid, but some people abuse the privilege.

Being president doesn’t change who you are – it reveals who you are.

Within the reigning social order, the general public must remain an object of manipulation, not a participant in thought, debate, and decision.

I am concerned for the security of our great Nation; not so much because of any treat from without, but because of the insidious forces working from within.

Well, I think everybody is frustrated by the finances of the U.N. and the inability to solve problems of war and peace.

Responsibility I believe accrues through privilege. People like you and me have an unbelievable amount of privilege and therefore we have a huge amount of responsibility. We live in free societies where we are not afraid of the police; we have extraordinary wealth available to us by global standards. If you have those things, then you have the kind of responsibility that a person does not have if he or she is slaving seventy hours a week to put food on the table; a responsibility at the very least to inform yourself about power. Beyond that, it is a question of whether you believe in moral certainties or not.

If the staff lacks policy guidance against which to test decisions, their decisions will be random.

Since the white working class cannot be mobilized to support the class enemy on the basis of their actual programs, the ‘radical insurgency’ called ‘the Republican Party’ appeals to its constituency on what are called ‘social-cultural issues’: religion, fear, racism, nationalism.

When I was a boy I was told that anybody could become President. Now I’m beginning to believe it.
