Don’t seek, don’t search, don’t ask, don’t knock, don’t demand — relax!

To be in time is to be asleep: to be awake is to be in eternity.

It all depends on you. You can go on sleeping forever, you can wake up right this moment.

Every being is in search of truth, but small fears go on preventing you.

And certainly, the mistakes that we male and female mortals make when we have our own way might fairly raise some wonder that we are so fond of it.

We must use time wisely and forever realize that the time is always ripe to do right.

Pain is less subject than pleasure to careless expression.

We have a lot of anxieties, and one cancels out another very often.

It is hard to go beyond your public. If they are satisfied with cheap performance, you will not easily arrive at better. If they know what is good, and require it. you will aspire and burn until you achieve it. But from time to time, in history, men are born a whole age too soon.

When a person cannot deceive himself the chances are against his being able to deceive other people.

In the morning, or when their intellect or their conscience has been aroused, when they hear music, or when they read poetry, they are radicals.

In childhood be modest, in youth temperate, in adulthood just, and in old age prudent.
