Not only is it a part of my life, I need to bring awareness to the severity of Lyme disease.

Use your health, even to the point of wearing it out. That is what it is for. Spend all you have before you die; do not outlive yourself.

There’s not shame in dealing with these things. There’s no shame in having to fight everyday.

I say there’re no depressed words just depressed minds.

It’s not about eating healthy to lose weight. It’s about eating healthy to feel good.

It was against my principles and all, but I was feeling so depressed I didn’t even think. That’s the whole trouble. When you’re feeling very depressed, you can’t even think.

The basic thing nobody asks is why do people take drugs of any sort? Why do we have these accessories to normal living to live? I mean, is there something wrong with society that’s making us so pressurized, that we cannot live without guarding ourselves against it?

I keep healthy and I’m always very active and always have been so. I don’t really see any signs of aging yet. Music keeps you young.

A lot of people undermine their own anxiety because they’re like…nothing’s necessarily going wrong. It just happens and it’s just inside of you and that’s not something you should be ashamed of. It’s justified because it’s happening.

I got the mumps. They threw me in a crib so I wouldn’t roll out onto the floor. And there’s a big bay window in my house, and that window stayed perfectly still until that train started to chug. At a certain speed, I could reach up and feel the pane, and that glass pane would vibrate. I said, Doggone, there’s got to be a reason for this. So I go to the kindergarten teacher, and she takes me to the science teacher, and the science teacher takes me to the library and reads it off to me — “This is called resonance.” That was the beginning.

If you are chronically down, it is a lifelong fight to keep from sinking.

For four to six months at a time, I would barely eat. I lived on a diet of Melba toast, carrots, and black coffee.

If you said you had homosexual tendencies they sent you to a psychiatrist.

I use the world as my therapy – as my therapist.

I want to change the stigma of crazy, of mental health – period.

I think Viagra is wonderful if you need it, if you have medical issues, if you’ve had surgery. I’ve just never needed it. Frankly, I wouldn’t mind if there were an anti-Viagra, something with the opposite effect. I’m not bragging. I’m just lucky. I don’t need it.
