I have a wonderful shelter, which is my family. I have a wonderful relationship with my brother and sister; this makes me feel that I know always where I belong.

Our brothers and sisters are there with us from the dawn of our personal stories to the inevitable dusk.

It’s incredible watching my son grow up and learn to read, discover the world and test boundaries. Being a mum is the greatest joy of my life, definitely.

Having lots of siblings is like having built-in best friends.

Family not only need to consist of merely those whom we share blood, but also for those whom we’d give blood.

I was probably 10 or 11 when I saw that, and sort of started thinking, ‘You know what? Marriage is an option. Having a family is an option. And going to school and getting your education and building your career is another really viable option that can lead to happiness and fulfillment.

I had grown up without a father and that is why it was so important to me that my children would never be in need of anything.

The debt of gratitude we owe our mother and father goes forward, not backward. What we owe our parents is the bill presented to us by our children.
